A Journey to Remember: Exploring "Iconic Dubai" with Mike’s Travel Hub LLC

Standing Tall in Dubai: A Journey Through the UAE with Mike's Travel Hub LLC

Ever fantasized about reaching the top of the Burj Khalifa, riding on a camel, or taking a tour in the world’s most opulent hotel? Well, that’s exactly what we experienced on the exhilarating inaugural escorted group trip with Mike’s Travel Hub LLC—and let me tell you, it was pure magic!

For eight sensational days, 3 eager travelers dove into the wonders of iconic Dubai, with a thrilling day trip to Abu Dhabi, creating memories that will last a lifetime. Curious about what an escorted group tour feels like? Strap in—because I’m about to whisk you through the adventure, one unforgettable moment at a time.

☀️ Day 1: The Adventure Begins – Planning for the "Go Wrong"

As a travel advisor, I always suggest factoring in time for the unexpected. I once met a guy on a cruise who always left extra time for the "go wrong." That advice resonated with me—and I applied it here.

With snow and ice forecasted in Newark (our layover), my Denver-based clients and I decided to fly in a day early and spend the night there. It was a brilliant decision! We woke up refreshed and ready to embark on our journey to dazzling Dubai.

The flight with United was smooth and delightful, even though I usually favor Delta. We gathered in Newark for the first time, spending the day at the airport getting to know each other before the long flight. A few movies, some snacks, and loads of anticipation later, we landed in Dubai.

🚨Travel Tip: Keep an eye on the weather and consider leaving a day early if needed. Your peace of mind is priceless.

☀️ Day 2: Touchdown in Dubai – First Impressions

Dubai welcomed us with its sparkling skylines and luxury at every corner. Our hotel, V Hotel Dubai (Curio Collection by Hilton), was sleek, modern, and bursting with personality. Even the check-in desk was on the 7th floor, and you needed your room key to access any other floors due to a nightclub on the bottom floor.

Dubai felt like a blend of Las Vegas glamour with Middle Eastern discipline. The city is clean, beautiful, and very strict with its laws. For example, running a red light results in your car being confiscated for 30 days, including a hefty fine.

After settling in and grabbing dinner at the hotel bar, we got a good night’s rest before our official city exploration began.

☀️ Day 3: Exploring "Old Dubai"

We kicked things off by heading back in time to discover Old Dubai’s cultural heartbeat. Our amazing driver took us through historical landmarks, including the Grand Mosque of Jumeirah, traditional neighborhoods, and spice and gold souks.

The souks were sensory overload in the best way—colorful, aromatic, and full of charm. One particular spice nearly knocked me out. I thought for sure I’d never be congested again!

We also visited the Dubai Frame, where you can literally see the contrast of old Dubai on one side and new Dubai on the other. A powerful visual metaphor for the city’s past and future.

🗣️A Memorable Side Story: While bartering is expected, be cautious. I was once lured into a shop by an offer to use the restroom. What followed was a winding walk through hidden bookcase doors and upper floors—and let’s just say I didn’t escape without buying a scarf.

The day ended with a dinner cruise along Dubai city scape. (I really would not recommend dinner cruise)

☀️ Day 4: Dubai Desert Safari

Time to let loose! We started with dune bashing—a 4x4 joyride through the golden dunes. It was adrenaline-pumping and so much fun. Some of us tried sandboarding and taking plenty of pictures - especially as the sun set on the horizon.

After the sun set, we continued on to a camp where we feasted on a BBQ dinner under the stars and enjoyed live performances of belly dancing, Tanoura spinning and even experienced riding a camel. The desert was absolutely magical.

🚨Lesson of the Day: Sand gets everywhere—your shoes, your clothes, even your mouth. But it's worth it.

☀️ Day 5: Luxury & The Burj Khalifa (New Dubai)

From desert vibes to dizzying heights, today was about opulence. We visited Palm Jumeirah, the Dubai Marina, and finally ascended the Burj Khalifa—the tallest building in the world. The view from the 124th floor was surreal. I even recognized a scene from "Mission: Impossible" playing in the lobby.

☀️ Day 6: A Day Trip to Abu Dhabi

Though I stayed back to rest due to allergies, the rest of the group ventured to Abu Dhabi and had a fantastic time. They visited the breathtaking Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque (complete with marble, gold, and a dress code), took in panoramic views from the Etihad Towers, and enjoyed a traditional Emirati lunch.

☀️ Day 7: Burj Al Arab – Inside the World’s Most Luxurious Hotel

For our final full day, we toured the iconic 7-star Burj Al Arab. It felt more like a museum than a hotel, with gold-covered hallways and a $24,000-per-night royal suite.

The level of detail and service was jaw-dropping. It reminded us that in Dubai, luxury isn’t just about price—it’s about the experience.

We capped off the day with a bit of last-minute shopping and preparation for our late-night flight home.

☀️ Day 8: Farewell Dubai

With hearts full and bags packed, we headed home from Dubai with a treasure trove of memories. From desert sunsets to luxury hotels, cultural gems to culinary delights, this trip was a reminder of why I do what I do.

We had fantastic guides, meaningful moments, and best of all—new friendships forged in the glow of adventure.
